I can’t believe it has been EXACTLY two years since our master bathroom renovation was completed. You can see the complete INSANE before/after here, but here is a little reminder:
It was a major job with a complete gut, including the removal of a bathtub and an entire closet, and most of the walls were taken down to the studs. After the master bathroom was “done”, we moved on to our hall bathroom and then our basement. We were in renovation mode for literally all of 2018 between those three rooms. That said, we finished our master bathroom, but we never decorated it, other than changing out a few cute items on the vanity each season and putting a picture of us from our honeymoon on a shelf above the toilet. So even though the bathroom has been “done”, it has also remained very simple and undecorated.
When Photowall reached out to me, I knew we had to take the opportunity to add some sort of serene art to the bathroom. Since we took out the closet, it opened up the room to have one giant wall and it’s just been empty these last two years because making decisions on art is difficult for us. Glenn and I sat on the couch for what felt like hours looking at all of the Photowall options. They have some amazing murals, wallpaper, canvas prints, and posters, plus you can design your own. There is something for literally everyone on that website.
After marking 15 items as our “favorites”, we took the laptop into the bathroom and literally held it up the wall to see if we could better envision which art piece would be the best for the ambiance of this room. Then, we measured to see what size would be appropriate. Once we made our decision, we were pretty excited! Finally! Art in the master bathroom! It’s only taken us TWO YEARS to get to this point! haha!
I placed my order on a Sunday afternoon, and I kid you not, I woke up the next morning to a shipping notification. They shipped in less than 24 hours! After I received the notification, we received the art in 3 days and couldn’t wait to hang it up!
When looking through the photos on the website, I missed where it says this comes in pieces and you have to put it together yourself, but it ended up being fairly easy! Here is what that process looked like:
And the before/after of the finished product:
I’m so in love with this piece of art! When we first decided to renovate our master bathroom, I was desperate for it to be a serene place. The previous layout of this bathroom was just awful and overwhelming. And after the trauma of my first miscarriage and literally birthing in that hideous bathroom, I struggled to even go in there anymore. We’ve been so in love with our master bathroom since gutting it, but this art has made that love regenerate all over again! It’s so simple but so serene, and that’s what I fully believe a bathroom should feel like. Especially a master bathroom!
