Today I want to share with you some Christmas gift ideas that are perfect for encouraging women in waiting. Many of these items are created by women who have experienced their own wait as well, each with their own beautiful story to tell. These gifts are perfect for various seasons of waiting, including:
The woman waiting for the miracle of pregnancy in the midst of infertility.
The woman waiting to be chosen by a birth mother for adoption.
The woman waiting for that dream job to come through.
The single woman waiting for her future spouse.
The woman waiting for a new home because she is ready for a change.
The woman who feels stagnant in life and is waiting for something new and exciting to happen.
You may know a woman who is struggling through one of these seasons right now, and you may have been looking for that perfect thoughtful gift. You may be the woman in waiting who wants to support others who are in waiting as well. I fall into both categories, and I have been the blessed recipient of a thoughtful gift such as one of these, and I have been the one to give gifts like these. I hope this little gift guide helps you with your shopping endeavors, or your wish list for Santa. 😉
In Due Time Devotional
This lovely devotional was written by Caroline Harries, author and blogger over at In-Due-Time. What I loved about the book is that Caroline was incredibly thoughtful in how she pulled it together. While her season of waiting involves infertility, this book isn’t just for women wading through the sea of infertility. It eloquently covers so many areas of waiting, and will lift up and encourage women who are in any season. Caroline also has some insanely cute notebooks to go along with the study, available separately or as a bundle. I recommend going with the bundle, because I don’t know about you all, but I love a cute notebook to journal in when I do my quiet time. Pair it with these journaling pens for the perfect gift set!

“Find Joy in the Waiting” Mug by Swallows Grace
When I saw this mug, my heart literally skipped a beat and I gasped. It’s simple, elegant, and such a beautiful reminder to find joy in the midst of waiting. And you know what is really special? This shop was created during a season of waiting for adoption and totally took off! Just scanning through the shop, I saw so many mugs that would make perfect gifts for many occasions. Coffee mugs are special to me… I probably own more than I should, but they were either all gifted to me or purchased for a special reason. If there is a mug lover in your life who is in a season of waiting, this mug would make the perfect Christmas gift along with some hot cocoa sticks!
“Give Me Joy in the Waiting” Artwork by Deeper Still Designs
This piece of artwork is so lovely and when I saw it, I just “aww”-ed over it. It would be a perfect piece in a bedroom or bathroom to serve as a simple reminder every day to have joy in the wait. Jaime, the shop owner, created this image during her own wait with infertility, and hopes it encourages someone else in their wait as well. So sweet! The Etsy listing is for the print only, so all you would need to purchase with it is a nice frame, and you’ve got a custom, thoughtful gift for that special friend. Pair it with the Willow Tree “Angel of Hope” figurine for a complete gift set. How precious would this artwork look framed next to the Angel of Hope? And what a powerful message to send: “Have joy and hope in the waiting.” Amen.
Jewelry by Bushel and Peck Designs
I met shop owner Charlotte on Instagram through the infertility community and she has the most lovely spirit! She is also not new to waiting as her wait has included infertility and adoption. As a way to raise funds for her upcoming “gotcha day” (January!), she opened Bushel and Peck Designs on Etsy and sells one-of-a-kind, unique jewelry designed to make women feel beautiful in the wait. No matter what the wait is for, these gorgeous pieces will make any woman feel loved. I had the honor of working with Charlotte on a custom beaded lanyard for myself for my work badge and I am in LOVE. Every day that I put it on, I think of her upcoming adoption and her humble spirit during her strenuous wait to bring a baby home. From her “love knot” bracelets to her beaded tassel necklaces, she has something for every woman who is in a season of waiting and needs something pretty to make her feel bright on a cloudy day. Pair a set of earrings with a “love knot” necklace for the perfect gift set, or contact Charlotte directly for a custom piece.
“Find Joy in the Journey” Baseball Tee by Swanky Marsh Boutique
I came across this shirt and just fell in love! Waiting is such a journey, isn’t it? And sometimes as we wait, it really is hard to find joy. What a better reminder than to flat out wear it? Find joy in the journey, no matter how easy or how difficult… find joy. I just loved it, and I don’t know about you all, but vintage-style baseball tees and 3/4-sleeve shirts make my heart sing. Especially when they are loose-fitting and cozy. They are so comfortable and one of my favorite things to wear in the Fall and Spring. Just imagine curling up on the couch in this cozy shirt with some leggings and a cup of coffee. Sometimes in this season of waiting, we need those cozy moments to relax, reflect, and recharge. This shirt would be the perfect gift to someone who needs a cozy go-to while in the journey of waiting. Pair it with some vintage cozy socks for the perfect Christmas gift!
I think all of these are great gift options for women in waiting, and I hope you found this gift guide useful. If you have a product that you sell that would be perfect for women in waiting, please feel free to link it in the comments, along with a description. I love supporting small businesses.
May your Christmas season be filled with joy in the waiting….
