- CD 2: Started 125 IU Follistim
- CD 5: E2 = 163; USN = 3mm lining, 31mm cyst, two follicles (23mm, 21mm); HSG exam; lowered Follistim to 100 IU
- CD 8: E2 = 136; USN = 6mm lining, cyst collapsing, maybe 1-2 leading follicles; increased Follistim to 150 IU
- CD 11: E2 & USN pending (Thursday)
Quick update on how yesterday’s ultrasound and E2 went:
The tech measured my lining twice… the first time she only got 4mm, but then she zoomed in and got 6mm, so I won’t be surprised if one of those is wrong… I guess we’ll find out next time.
The cyst is collapsing, so it’s no longer round, it’s more of an oval shape. I felt a lot of pinching on my right ovary on Sunday night, so I assume the collapse is what I was feeling. Once again, instead of a big rupture, I have a slow leak, and I am SO thankful.
As for the two big follicles we saw last time that came in at 23mm and 21mm, they were both gone. I had a feeling they were empty and would disappear. History has shown that I tend to do that with large follicles that appear too soon, so I knew this was likely to happen, and honestly it’s fine. If they were empty, they needed to get OUT OF MY WAY.
There wasn’t much else that was leading. I had an 11mm and a 12mm follicle, but that’s it. There were several that were tiny, in the 7-10mm range, but nothing dominant. Maybe the 11 and 12 will rise up? I think that is our hope so we’re going to try to feed them…
My E2 came back at 136, so it dropped just a little bit, which is perfectly fine because the two empty follicles are now gone as well, and we didn’t need to feed those suckers any longer. It’s funny how pulling back on the Follistim makes such a dramatic change! But we knew that if we pulled back, it was likely that the empty follicles would vacate, and they did. 🙂
So, Now What?
Well, we had lowered my dose to 100 IU in hopes that we could control things a little better and pull back the reins, and it looks like that worked for us! So we cranked the dose up to 150 IU last night and I’ll get checked again on Thursday.
I survived day 1 of the 21-Day Fix… let me just say, that was hard. The meal plan is easy, but the workout kicked my butt last night. Yikes.
