- CD 3: E2 = 42; started 100 IU Follistim
- CD 7: E2 = 90; lining = 4mm; found 40mm cyst + 5 follicles (one perfect 18mm, the rest are long and skinny); started alternating 75 & 100 IU Follistim
- CD 11: E2 = 66; lining = 5mm; found that the 40mm cyst shrunk to 27mm (yay!), plus 4 of the 5 follicles from CD 7 were completely gone; turned up Follistim to 150 IU
- CD 14: E2 = 455; lining = 7mm; cyst shrunk to 24mm; several 10mm follicles, two possible leaders with 11mm measurements
Today’s ultrasound and E2 played out halfway how I expected, but I still walked out with a lot of hope.
For one, my lining grew, so it’s getting closer to being ready to accept a baby, and that is worth a praise! I expect my lining to be ready next week.
The cyst is still hanging around, but it did shrink up some more. One measurement came in at 31mm so at first I was worried it grew again, but the other measurements came in smaller so it is no longer a big round cyst, it’s an oval. Hopefully it continues to collapse!
As for the other follicles, the one oval that was left on Tuesday is now gone, which I expected, and I am glad because we know it was empty and a waste of space. I mainly have several 10mm follicles, but two did bring in 11mm measurements, so maybe they will be our leaders.
My E2 jumped from 66 to 455 in three days. The ultrasound sure doesn’t match it… you’d think I’d have bigger follicles with that much estrogen. At least 1 strong one. My guess is it means that multiples are going to be recruited this cycle, which is fine with me!
So, what now?
I’m waiting to hear what we’re going to do about my current dose of Follistim, but my guess is it’ll stay the same, or maybe dial back to 125, and we’ll check things again on Tuesday. Otherwise, there isn’t a whole lot going on yet, and yes, it’s a little surprising considering we turned up the Follistim to 150 IU the last few days. But there is at least some movement – my lining is thickening up, and the empty follicles have vacated the premises (minus the big cyst), so to me, that is still all good news. My E2 is higher than it has been in a while, so maybe we’ll have more than one mature egg this time. My hope is that now some of these 10mm follicles can emerge, and maybe next week we’ll get to trigger+IUI.
This is about to get interesting. With Christmas being next week, I’m not sure what to expect. I’m a little nervous that this is all going to go down right in the midst of Christmas Eve/Day, but what can ya do? I knew going into this that the timing would not be my own, so I’m just along for the ride.
Jesus, take the wheel.
