Zoey’s 5th birthday party was very exciting! But oh, what a week surrounded it. Hopefully soon I can share the details of March 20-26, because it has been insane… by far the weirdest 7 days of my life. But, I digress. Zoey’s birthday was wonderful and I’m so thankful for those who celebrated with her. We decided to try an ice skating party since she wanted the theme to be FROZEN, like every other little girl her age. Ice skating just seemed like the most logical solution and I’m so glad we tried it!
She had a BLAST! Compared to most parties at skating rinks, this one was by far the most affordable one. The facility was a little outdated and the bathroom terrified Zoey, but it was still worth having a party there and we were able to invite as many friends as she wanted and still stay within a reasonable budget.
She totally got the hang of it before we knew it! We skated for about an hour, and then went into a party room for blue cupcakes, ice cream sundaes, and presents. We did a blue and white ice cream sundae bar, with shredded coconut, blueberries, white chocolate chips, blue sixlets, mini marshmallows, and blue gum balls. We also had some syrups and whipped cream on the side.
Oh, the fun these kids had! After all was said and done, everyone got to skate for a bit longer before the rink closed up. After the party was over, we went to dinner at a local hibachi restaurant and Zoey ate her body weight in salad drowned in ginger dressing! I was amazed at how much she loved that dressing! I need to buy a bottle of that stuff to keep in the house…
I’m so glad that we got to have this time to celebrate her turning 5. After all the boohooing I have been doing lately, her party turned out to be just perfect for ringing in “5” and I wouldn’t change a thing.

It all looks amazing! She is such a beautiful girl,
Thank you! I’m still just shocked that she is 5! ACK!
It does not seem like it has been a whole year since you blogged about her 4th birthday!!! You have a beautiful family! And you are quite the party planner… Looks like everyone has a blast!
Thank you! I know, I can’t believe it has already been yet another year.
