I love me some YouTube moms. I accidentally fell into watching YouTube mom videos about a year ago and there are certain ones I have gotten absolutely hooked on. I follow them and watch every video they put out now. Some of you are probably thinking, “how does this chick even have time for all of that?” Haha. Honestly, I watch them while I cook dinner. I’m in the kitchen 30-60 minutes preparing dinner and if Zoey isn’t helping me, I like to have a little entertainment. Actually, she watches some of them with me. I find that YouTube has far better entertainment than TV. Here are my five favorite YouTube moms with links to their channels and sample videos.
Ellie Mecham | Ellie & Jared
I stumbled across this channel one night when browsing videos about pregnancy announcements. I was instantly sucked in by how sweet this couple was. They shared their infertility journey with the YouTube community and when they finally found out they were pregnant, it was the sweetest moment and they captured it all on film. I found this channel not long into her pregnancy and followed diligently from then on. After two years of TTC with PCOS, her sweet son Jackson Clark was born earlier this month and he is one precious baby.
Missy Lanning | The Bumps Along the Way | Daily Bumps
Missy is another YouTube mom I stumbled across the same way as Ellie – pregnancy announcements. Her sweet personality drew me in and then I discovered why she was on YouTube in the first place. I’ve shared a video from her before. She suffered a miscarriage and a 20-week stillbirth before finally having her rainbow baby Oliver. I started following the channel when she was about three months pregnant, then I got sucked into the daily vlogs she and her husband Bryan do on Daily Bumps. They are making an impact in people’s lives through their story. They’re just a young couple in love, taking the hits life throws at them along the way, and they document every moment, both the good and the bad. They’re the first ones I usually put on when cooking dinner because it’s daily vlogs so it’s just a part of my cooking ritual now.
Kayla | Obbs & Lala
This girl is a cloth diaper genius. Like Missy, I’ve shared one of her videos before. I learned everything I needed to know about cloth diapering through her channel. I love the way she presents information and how casual she is. Also, pretty sure we’d be friends in real life if she wasn’t in Canada. Her presentation method just makes sense to me. I find that I not only enjoy her cloth diaper videos, but also her grocery hauls, monthly favorites, updates on her son, etc. Since her son is now older and potty trained, she talks about a lot more than just cloth diapers, so even if cloth isn’t your thing, you should check her out. Plus, she has alluded a few times that she is dealing with infertility and struggling to conceive #2, so be sure to send her some love and encouragement.
Genevieve | MamaNatural
MamaNatural’s channel is all about natural choices in living, whether it is through food or general healthcare. She is a crunchy mama and I love how her videos are short and to the point. I have learned a lot from her. Not everything I agree with, but a good chunk of it I find is useful. Some of the videos are really funny and others are just very informational. She has some great recipes, information on supplements, etc. Her videos about the things crunchy mamas say make me laugh the most. She has an awesome sense of humor.
Heidi Kim | Heidi Kim TV
Just like Missy, Heidi experienced a stillbirth before finally having her rainbow baby Rosalind. She has such a sweet demeanor about her. I first came across her channel looking for videos on how different one-size cloth diapers fit on newborns. She has an awesome variety in her stash so it was really useful to see how certain diapers fit (or didn’t) on her tiny daughter (hello, Fuzzibunz!). She’s a breastfeeding champ and shares her experiences with nursing, cloth diapering and everything in between. If you get a chance, go watch her explanation video on what happened with her stillbirth. It’s very moving.
There you have it – my five favorite YouTube mommies! I randomly watch other mommas out there as well, but I find I get annoyed very easily and quickly turned off by some of them. These mommies are my absolute favorites and you should check them out when you have time. 🙂
